Dr. Virendra Singh speaks about Asthma.....

Dr.Virendra Singh, Director of Asthma bhawan spoke about the causes of asthma and its symptoms. He said “Asthma is a disease related to airways of lungs and is caused due to the contraction of breath pipe. Due to constriction of wind pipe, patient takes breathing with great difficulty. The main symptoms of the asthma are wheezing, coughing, chest tightness and difficulty in breathing. This disease usually starts in childhood and in approximately 50% of people it can continue for lifetime. Among rest of the people it gets cured. The main causes of the disease are dust, smoke, pollens, climate change etc. The other disease which affects patients along with asthma is allergic rhinitis and it causes cold, sneezing, itching in nose and watering eyes.

There are two treatment expectations of a patient; one is controlling the asthma symptoms and second to prevent recurrence of the disease. Asthma is controlled by doctors by providing required medication. Second aspect of prevention of recurrence of agony depends on precautions and lifestyle of a patient.
